The most frequently asked question we get is,
“What is type b?”
Type B is a type of personality or behavior pattern.
Gloria Steinem said, “There are people who group all people
into two categories and people who don’t do that”
Meyer Friedman and his co-workers first defined personality types in the 1950s.
Friedman classified people into 2 categories, Type A and Type B personalities.
back that they were less vulnerable to stress related illnesses.
In sharp contrast the Type A personality has been defined as:
action-emotion complex that can be observed in any person who is aggressively
involved in a chronic, incessant struggle to achieve more and more in less and
less time, and if required to do so, against the opposing efforts of other things
or other persons.
Other Type A descriptions include: mentally and physically alert at all times,
habitual sense of time urgency or 'hurry sickness", an intense drive to achieve
one’s goals, over-competitiveness in all areas of life, constantly seeking for
recognition and improvement, tendency to rush things, impatient, excessively
time-conscious, insecure about one's status, highly competitive, hostile and
aggressive, incapable of relaxation, workaholics who multi-task, drive
themselves with deadlines, and are unhappy about the smallest of delays.
Now don’t feel too bad for the Type A’s. They have worked hard to turn their
neurosis into a status symbol of, “get it done tough asses who don’t let anyone
stand in their way to achieve a goal."
I would like to take this opportunity to say:
“THANK YOU TO ALL THE TYPE A’s out there!” You keep the world running
on time. People with Type A personalities, who choose to use their powers for
some Type A people in my life and they require lots of maintenance,
(they need tons of love and to be shown constant appreciation),
but they are worth it. Now lets examine the type b personality…..
Ok, so We the type b’s lack any sense of urgency, although we have been
known to be extremely level headed in times of crisis. We aren’t into competition.
Wining or losing does not define who we are. We also R-E-A-L-Y don’t like it
when you involve us with anything that has a deadline attached to it.
That’s just not what we are all about. And please don’t schedule us to death
with a bunch of activities, you will just bumm us out. If we want to stop doing
something, hear us out, let us replace it with something mellow, artistic and
creative. Type B's thrive when things are calm and peaceful.
Oh we’ll make you just as crazy as a Type A, but in completely different way.
We’ll get the job done, but only when we are in the mood to do it. Because we
have all the time in the world our imagination is free to soar. Since we aren’t on
any kind of time schedule, we tend to be open to new ideas and different ways
of doing things. We forgive easily. Laugh at ourselves often. We don’t hold grudges.
And We live happily knowing that everything will work itself out in its own good time.
The world needs us too. We remind people: “to chill out” “to sleep on it”
“to stop and smell the roses” and “to be grateful for what you have in this life,
instead of obsessing on what you don’t have.” PEACE!
